Font image generator
Render your text in a real typeface and save it as a PNG image, for places where copy-and-paste Unicode text is not enough or is not allowed.
How to use it
- Type your text. Press Enter for a new line.
- Choose a font and set the size. The preview updates straight away.
- Pick the text and background colors, or tick Transparent background for a PNG you can place over a photo or design.
- Choose the image width, the padding around the text and the alignment.
- Press Download PNG. Where your browser supports it, Copy image puts the picture on your clipboard instead.
Where to use it
- Titles for video thumbnails, slides and posters
- Lettering mock-ups for logos, cards and signs
- Script or blackletter text for platforms that remove Unicode styles
- Seeing how a name looks in a real typeface before a design or tattoo is drawn
Real typefaces, PNG output
The image is drawn with the canvas feature built into your browser, using the selected typeface. Unlike Unicode text, the PNG keeps the exact look of the font on every device and in every app, because it is a picture rather than characters. Choose a width of 1080 pixels for most social posts, or a custom width from 200 to 4,000 pixels, and a font size from 12 to 400 pixels.
A transparent background produces a PNG with no fill behind the letters, ready to place on a photo, a slide or a video frame.

Make the image accessible
An image is not text: it cannot be searched, edited or read by screen readers. When you post it, add a description (alt text) that contains the same words, and keep important information, such as dates or links, in the text of your post as well.
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from the fancy text generator?
The fancy text generator gives you Unicode characters that you paste as text, and the reader's device decides how they look. This tool draws your text with a real typeface into a PNG image, so it looks exactly the same everywhere and can use every letter the font supports, including accents and numbers.
Can I use the images commercially?
All 12 fonts are released under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, which allows using them to make images, including for commercial work. The license limits selling the font files themselves, not pictures made with them. The license text for each font is linked in the table on this page.
Why does the tool say a font has no glyphs for some characters?
Each font only contains certain alphabets. Most cover Western and Central European letters, and some cover Vietnamese, but none of them include Cyrillic, Greek, Arabic or Asian scripts. When a character is missing, the tool names it so you can pick another font.
Is my text uploaded?
No. The image is drawn by your browser on your device and saved directly from it. The fonts are downloaded from this site only when you open this page.
Can I download an SVG?
Not at the moment. A reliable SVG needs the font embedded or the letters converted to outlines, which this tool does not do yet. PNG is available at widths up to 4,000 pixels.
